Site Manager - General Construction

Due to increased demand and company growth a fantastic role has arisen to join our team.

The role will involve managing and overseeing the day to day running of projects from the start through to completion, ensuring that work is completed on time, safely, within budget and to a high standard. Projects will span a variety of sectors e.g. commercial, agricultural, local authorities, education etc.

The job role will include:

  • The responsibility for keeping detailed records using the site diary sheets.
  • Checking all deliveries for damage or shortages. 
  • Collating all delivery and advice notes and returning to the regional office (Boston).
  • Assisting the Contracts Manager in the preparation of the construction programme of works and monitoring progress against the programme.
  • Attending regular design coordination meetings and sub-contractor coordination meetings. Liaising with the Contracts Manager as to the sub-contractor’s progress of fully integrated works to allow the manager to value the works and sign off invoices. 
  • Being responsible for the setting of work for all labour and sub-contractors.
  • Monitoring the quality of workmanship on site. Non-compliant and poor workmanship is to be raised with the tradesman for rectification. 
  • Working with the Administration team and Contracts Managers to call off materials in accordance with the procurement schedules and construction programme.

Health and safety issues will be a top priority in this role. It will be the candidate’s responsibility to discharge health and safety obligations on site.

The Candidate will need to understand all aspects of the contracting process, technical building requirements and be commercially aware. They will need to be able to establish strong working relationships with a wide range of people and be a team player. Good communication skills are essential as well as proven experience in a similar role.

Assistant Contracts Manager

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Assistant Contracts Manager to join our team.

The successful candidate will work alongside our Contracts Managers, Construction Manager and Directors. They will be working on a wide variety of projects mostly within, but not limited to, the agricultural sector. They will split their time between our Boston office and sites to gain valuable experience.  

Key Role Responsibilities:

  • Sending enquires for materials, sub-contract works and plant, working to the requirements of the procurement schedules and referring to the construction programme of works.
  • Compiling cost analysis and reporting back to the managers. 
  • Drafting and sending some material, plant and Sub-Contractor orders. 
  • Dealing with material shortages and damage – raising disputes and queries, compiling detailed records of telephone calls and communication.
  • Daily communication with the site team to discuss and agree call off quantities and delivery dates.
  • Assisting the Contracts Manager with all Health & Safety requirements including ensuring that risk assessments, method statements and other assessments are all received and generated in a timely manner.
  • They will also be required to attend design and Sub-Contractor co-ordination meetings, as well as regular progress meetings.

 

The ideal candidate will need to be commercially aware, able to form strong working relationships with a variety of people, a team player but also able to use their own initiative. They should be well organised and capable of meeting deadlines with good math and IT skills.

Administrator

Due to company growth, Clarke Group Construction are currently seeking an Administrator to join their close-knit team.

The role will be diverse and therefore will require someone with excellent multi-tasking and organisational skills.

The role will involve, although will not be limited to:

  • General administration duties; call handling, filing, drafting of quotations, data entry, stock management, customer enquiries.
  • Assisting the Directors and Contracts Managers with day-to-day tasks; including sourcing materials, sending orders, meeting arrangements, formal correspondence, completing tender submissions etc.
  • Communicating with Site Managers & Operatives for delivery arrangements, organising plans & specifications for site etc.
  • Monitoring and arranging employee training.


This role will require excellent communication skills and attention to detail. Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook are essential. Experience and knowledge of the construction is desirable however, not essential.

This is a full-time, permanent role based at our office in Wyberton, Boston with an immediate start available. Due to the location of the office, it is preferable that applicants have a full driving license and their own transport.

Contracts Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for a Contracts Manager to join our team. This position would be based in Boston, Lincolnshire.

In this role the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of construction within a range of various sectors, mostly agricultural. They will split their time between our office and sites to ensure all objectives are being met; Health & safety, timescales, budget, quality etc.

They will be responsible for:

  • Generating the contract programme of works and monitoring progress against the programme, as well as producing regular progress reports for the Directors.
  • Leading design co-ordination and Sub-Contractor co-ordination meetings.
  • Procurement of all labour, plant, materials, and sub-contractors – formulating accurate enquiries.
  • Keeping accurate cost analysis.
  • All elements of Health & Safety including checking the competency of the appointed sub-contractors, ensuring that risk assessments, method statements and other assessments are all received and generated in a timely manner.

 

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate industry and technical experience (particularly within the housing sector), the capacity to meet deadlines, be commercially aware and a team player with the ability to form strong working relationships with a variety of people.

It would also be beneficial, although not essential, if the candidate has HNC or HND in a building or industry related subject along with an SMSTS and first aid qualification.

The ideal candidate will need to be a fully qualified, time served Joiner with experience in all aspects of site joinery, first and second fix.

Day to day duties will include all aspects of groundworks from digging trenches, to laying foundations, to civil works and paving. It is essential for candidates to have previous experience in a similar role, however formal qualifications are beneficial but not necessary for securing the position.
