Marie Curie Charity Fundraising Event – Scafell Pike – 10/09/2016

Following the successful completion of our charity bike ride from Lincoln to Boston in 2014, where we raised £3,248.66 for the Pilgrim Hospital Oncology Department,  a number of our Team including myself have decided to undertake a hike up the highest mountain in Britain, Scafell Pike on the 10th September 2016.  The charity we are raising funds for this year is Marie Curie (Reg Charity No. 207994).  Marie Curie is a charitable organisation, registered with the Charity Commission, which raises funds to offer care and support through terminal illness.  Marie Curie was first established in 1948.  They have been caring for people living with any terminal illness, and their families, for over 60 years. They offer expert care, guidance and support to help people get the most from the time they have left.  Their Caring Services operation includes the Marie Curie Nursing Service and nine hospices located across the UK.  All services are free of charge.  The people they help are referred to them from the NHS for symptom control, end of life care and respite. This is delivered both night and day by Marie Curie Nurses and Healthcare Assistants trained in palliative care.

To make a donation, you can either complete the fundraising form (pdf download) or you can use the link below which will take you to our ‘Just Giving’ donations page.  From this page, you also can keep track of our training progress, the donations we receive and the outcome of the hike.
