This was a competitive tender against some of the most well-known Construction companies in the Lincoln area. This accomplishment really emphasises our progression into the Lincoln construction market.

The project will commence early August 2023; headed up by our Project Manager Robin Alexander and experienced Site Operative Simon Gardner.

Having secured the project by competitive tender against numerous other contractors, we were ecstatic to receive such positive feedback from the Architect handling the project. Ian Butler from Kingsmead Design Ltd said ‘You were set a high bar in terms of not only being competitive, but having to meet the past Projects track record test… which you obviously did with flying colours.’

The project which comprises of two extensions to the front of the existing hall will provide a new larger base for the community library and a new parish office with associated welfare facilities. The renovation works will restore the hall in to use from its current unused state. 

We will be mobilising our team of experienced tradespeople for a start in early August 2023. The project will be overseen from site level by our long-standing Site Manager; Mike Stubley and headed up from the office by our QS and Project Manager; Robin Alexander. 

We are excited to get started and contribute to the rejuvenation of this hall back to a thriving community space.

The pews which were in a very sorry state, were brought back to our in-house joinery facility in Boston, they have been lovingly restored by our experienced joiners; this will certainly improve the level of comfort for the parishioners. We are also in the process of installing underfloor heating and re-installing the existing flooring where possible. Our Site Manager on this project is a Joiner by trade and his keen eye to detail is proving invaluable.   

The highly sought-after extension is also coming along well. The new additional space will house a community hall, parish office and new welfare facilities. It is great to see the development of this project knowing that it is going to be a much used and appreciated space for the local community.

Tom has been working in the industry for over 10 years starting out as an Apprentice Joiner. He has since qualified in Carpentry and Joinery and worked his way up to Working Foreman. During his career Tom has been involved in a number of high value projects spanning across a range of industries including executive housing, heritage works, high-end leisure facilities etc.

Alongside Tom, Clarke Group have also welcomed Russell Smith who has joined the company as Site Manager. Russell is a time-served Site Manager with extensive experience in the industry which he has obtained over the last 40 years. Having started out as a Joiner Russell also worked his way through the ranks to the position of Site Manager. Russell has worked across a wide array of sectors and is well accustomed to working in active environments; hospitals, schools, shop refurbishments etc.

Clarke Group are very excited to add both Tom & Russell to the team and know they will be an asset to the company!

Clarke Group have been appointed as the main Contractor for the construction of the community hall to the west side of the church and new utility buildings to the north (see proposed elevation above). They will also be responsible for constructing a new parish office and the re-ordering and upgrading of the interior of the church.

Members of the Clarke Group team and the architect Guy Forman were in attendance at the Turf Turning ceremony hosted by Father Stuart Cradduck on the 27th August, this marked the commencement of the 45-week project.

The post PROJECT WIN – Manthorpe Church first appeared on Clarke Construction.

Members of the Clarke Group team will be undertaking the Lincoln C2C2C cycle ride on the 27th June. The ride of either 100 miles or 200km will extend throughout the Lincolnshire countryside and will throw up many challenges along the way.

The team are taking on this challenge to raise money for the RSPB at Snettisham, who are still desperately trying to raise funds to replace a hide damaged beyond repair in December 2013. It is crucially important to the charity that they offer visitors the opportunity to learn and enjoy the special landscape of The Wash and the wealth of wildlife in front of them.

The works will be taking place within the curtilage of a grade II listed building and carried out whilst the school is fully operational. This will throw up many challenges for the site team. The health, safety and welfare of the staff and pupils will be of the upmost importance and will be carefully managed by our skilled and competent Site Manager.
